The Program Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) Program in Communication and Innovation aims to produce graduates as new-generation communication scholars who are ‘leaders,’ equipped with high-level academic and professional acuity. These graduates will possess the potential to work effectively in educational institutions, public sector agencies, and/or business organizations that are driven by communication, management, and innovation, guided by the principles of good governance.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

PLO1 Students enable to understand the relationship between communication, management and innovation

PLO2 Students can develop new knowledge through advanced quantitative and qualitative research in the field of communication at national and/or international levels.

PLO3 Students can choose tools to analyse big data for designing practical communication projects for private and or public sectors.

PLO4 Students can develop strategic thinking skills that enable them to formulate practical solutions to communication management problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

This course focuses on the management of marketing communication campaign projects, including the planning, management, and evaluation of modern marketing communication campaigns with innovation as a key component. It covers principles and strategies of marketing communication through traditional and digital media, brand building, marketing communication theories, problem analysis and consumer understanding, media planning, modern advertising and public relations approaches, international and cross-cultural communication planning, and the presentation of marketing communication campaign plans.

The tuition fees for Master’s degree (Regular Program), Master’s degree (Special Program), and Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) programs are as follows:

Must meet the English language proficiency requirements as announced by the institution

Must have completed a Master’s degree in any field from a government or private educational institution, either domestic or international, which is accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, or the Institute Council (for Plan 1 (1.1) and Plan 2 (2.1))

For applicants to the Ph.D. Plan 1 (1.1) dissertation track, applicants must have good research knowledge in Communication Arts or have research experience in at least 1 project (excluding thesis) with a workload of not less than 80%, or have at least 1 publication in an academic journal supported by a recognized funding agency

Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts with outstanding academic performance, with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above, or First Class Honors from a government or private educational institution, either domestic or international, which is accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, or the Institute Council (for Plan 2 (2.2))

The Master’s degree programs at the School of Communication Arts and Innovation Management, Nida@Nida, offer 2 majors: Communication and Innovation, and Communication Management with Data Analytics.

The Communication and Innovation major is divided into 4 specializations as follows:

1. Digital Marketing Communication (i-Digital Marketing) focuses on analyzing market trends and consumer behavior, which are essential for designing marketing content and utilizing media across diverse communication channels. Students can integrate concepts and theories related to marketing communication and digital communication, analyze audience behavior and news consumers’ behavior, and apply them to practice through situation and problem analysis, marketing communication strategy formulation, marketing campaigns, organizational image communication, and corporate branding.

2. Digital Communication for Creative Industries (i-Creative) focuses on providing knowledge and developing students’ potential in digital communication, information technology, and creativity within the scope of relationships between communication technology, entrepreneurial initiatives, innovation, creativity, and social issues that connect with government policies in the context of creative industries.

3. Social Media Communication Innovation (i-Social Media) focuses on providing knowledge about social media management concepts, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. Students will understand the social media management process at every stage and be able to apply it to real practice, from planning principles, creation, social media management, content creation and storytelling, production, social media advertising management, and influencer marketing operations.

4. Health Communication and Sustainable Social Development (i-Health Communication and Sustainability) focuses on new perspectives, integrating theories and concepts to apply in development for change in social, health, information and communication technology dimensions, and communication for development and sustainable social transformation. It also enables students to apply theories to analyze and evaluate case studies and real practice in managing activities related to health promotion, with the ultimate goal of elevating the health and well-being of the Thai population.

The Communication Management with Data Analytics major focuses on applying innovation in creativity, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Bots to drive communication management and marketing communication. This is partially related to the Master of Arts program in Communication and Innovation that emphasizes the use of innovation in digital marketing operations and social transformation.

Both programs focus on producing graduates with the ability to work comprehensively in various communication industries.

For Master’s degree and Doctoral degree programs, the institution offers scholarship support, also known as Educational Promotion Scholarships. There are 3 types of scholarships available as follows:

  • Educational Promotion Scholarship Type 1: Full tuition fee waiver plus personal expense support of 10,000 Baht/month
    • Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.75 or above
    • Master’s degree with GPA 3.25 or above
  • Educational Promotion Scholarship Type 2: Full credit fee waiver
    • Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.75 or above
  • Educational Promotion Scholarship Type 3: Half credit fee waiver for the entire program
    • Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.50 or above
