Application for Admission to Doctor of Philosophy Program in Communication and Innovation (English Program) Semester 2, Academic Year 2025 (2/2025)
National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) is accepting applications for the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Communication and Innovation (English Program) Semester 2, Academic Year 2025 (2/2025)
1. Qualifications of Applicants
- Plan 1(1.1) (Dissertation Only) 48 credits
- Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree in any field from an accredited academic institution, either in Thailand or another country.
- Applicants must be proficient in communicating in English throughout the program. He or she must provide proof of English Language proficiency not after the date of the entrance examination.
English language proficiency must be attested through official TOEFL Paper-Based 550, Computer-Based 213, Internet-Based 79 or IELTS 6.5. TOEFL/IELTS test scores must not be older than 2 years at the time of application. Alternatively test results of NIDA internal language proficiency tests, organized by the Graduate School of Language and Communication, are also accepted (please contact the NIDA Center for Language and Communication Development and Services

Exceptions from the requirement to provide English language proficiency scores are granted only to native English speakers or to applicants who have obtained their Master’s degree from international academic institutions where English was the medium of instruction and study. Proper proof is required.
- Applicants must be able to devote sufficient time to their studies and research as required by the syllabus.
- Applicants must recognize the pivotal role of a faculty member as their thesis advisor. They should approach a faculty member and indicate the agreed-upon advisor’s name on the application form. If unable to contact or approach a faculty member to be an advisor, applicants must list two preferred faculty members. GSCM will then nominate the applicants to those faculty members for consideration after the applicants have been admitted as regular students.
Applicants are responsible for checking that their application forms are complete and for ensuring they qualify for admission as announced above. Applicants whose application documents are incomplete or who do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered for admission and may be expelled at any time if found to violate the above qualifications. Any fees paid are non-refundable.
NIDA reserves the right to examine an applicant’s documents and qualifications at any time. If it is found that an applicant does not meet the required qualifications and acceptance has already been given, the acceptance shall be cancelled.
The Institute may not offer any of the programs of study specified in the curricula in any given semester, depending on the number of enrollees. It may therefore resume the program in a subsequent semester.
The Institute reserves the right to make adjustments relating to the admission schedule, tuition fees, and programs of study without prior notice.
Note: Plan 1 (1.1) Applicants must possess good knowledge of research or have experience in conducting at least one research (not thesis) with the responsibility of no less than 80 per cent, or publish at least one article in academic journals with grants from acceptable institutions.
- Applicants who have graduated from a university outside of Thailand must obtain a Letter of Confirmation on Standard Curriculum for Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the Commission on Higher Education at the Ministry of Education. This letter can be obtained by submitting a request along with required documents directly to the Bureau of Standards and Evaluation (8th floor) at the Commission on Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation:

2. Applying at the Institute / Downloading from the Website
The application form can also be downloaded from the NIDA website: http://gscm.nida.ac.th To download:
1. Access NIDA’s website and click on the title “Application form”.
2. Print out the form using white A4 paper only. Do not change the contents. If any changes are made, the application will be cancelled.
3. Fill out the form clearly and thoroughly.
3. Application Process

3.2 Select the “Login” menu
3.3 Log in with E-Mail to receive OTP code
3.4 Select the “Apply for Admission” menu
3.5 Choose the program of interest
3.6 Save applicant information
3.7 Attach application documents
3.8 Submit the application
3.9 Pay the application fee via:
– Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited (all branches)
– Counter Service (all branches)
– Internet/Mobile Banking
3.10 Application fee: 3,000 Baht (Payment processing fees are subject to bank and Counter Service rates)
Notes:
- Once the application fee is paid, the institution will not issue any refunds under any circumstances.
- Application documents will not be returned by the institution under any circumstances.
- If applicants fail to submit supporting documents, the institution will consider the qualifications incomplete according to the admission announcement, and the institution will not announce the list of eligible exam candidates.
4. The application will be considered complete only when the institution has verified that the application fee payment is correct and complete according to the payment receipt and within the application period specified by the institution. Applicants can check their application status two working days after payment at https://admission.nida.ac.th/ under the Payment menu.

- Writing Examination and Interview Fee 3,000 baht
- TOEFL or IELTS test scores.
- One copy of the bachelor’s degree certificate
- One copy of bachelor’s degree transcript
- One copy of the master’s degree certificate
- One copy of master’s degree transcript
- Education Certificate of the Bureau of Standards and Evaluation at the Commission on Higher Education. Note : 1. In the event that an applicant submits an application with incomplete supporting documents and has already finalized the submission, the supporting documents cannot be edited. The Institute will send an email notification to the applicant requesting that the additional documents be uploaded via https://admission.nida.ac.th/ by selecting “Check Application” and clicking “Update Application.”
2. The Institute permits the submission of required documents within six (6) weeks from the commencement date of the first academic term as indicated in the academic calendar. Failure to submit complete documentation within this period may result in the termination of student status at the Institute.
- One-inch photos were taken not more than six months prior to application date.
- One copy of the Identification Card.
- Evidence of any change of name (if applicable).

6. Announcement of Eligible Applicants for Writing Examination and Interview
NIDA will announce the list of applicants for the writing examination and interview on
December 11, 2025. The list will also be posted on the website http://gscm.nida.ac.th and https://admission.nida.ac.th/
7. Date for Writing Examination and Interview
The Writing Examination and Interview Examination will be held onDecember 13 – 14, 2025.
8. Writing Examination and Interview Examination Results
NIDA will announce a list of applicants who have passed the Writing Examination and Interview on December 19, 2025. The list will also be posted on the website http://gscm.nida.ac.th and https://admission.nida.ac.th/
9. Documents for Registering as a Student
Applicants who have been accepted must confirm their rights and obtain all required documents for registration on December 19 – 23, 2025. Applicants who fail to obtain all the required documents will not be admitted to the program.
10. Study Registration
Registration will be held on December 25, 2025 – January 3, 2025. The applicants must pay the registration fee by the dates specified above.
